You may have already decided that serviced offices are right for your business. Perhaps you’ve even tied down the location. But once you’ve found your office space, how can you maximize it to best serve your business?

Creating a productive and pleasant working environment is essential to the success of any business. After all, you and your colleagues are likely to be spending a great deal of time between those four walls, so making it a great place to work is very important.

There are many factors to consider and the balance of elements that go into the making of a great office environment is somewhat subjective. Certainly, the nature of your business will dictate to some degree how your office looks and operates, as will the number of staff you employ. But what follows are a few general points to consider when setting up your new serviced office.

A reflection of your business
Your office space should be an extension of your business, helping to reflect your identity to both staff and visitors. Again, the nature of your business will guide you – if you were working within the creative industries for example it would make sense for your office to reflect your creative flair and interest in design.

Room to breathe
Creating a comfortable work environment means giving your staff ample space to do their job. This means creating a layout and desk configuration that offers privacy when needed, but also ensures that people don’t feel isolated from their colleagues and instead remain connected. One of the many benefits of serviced offices is that they often come fully furnished, but look for workstations that can be moved to suit your needs.

Are you sitting comfortably?
A well-positioned desk in a well-considered workspace needs a high quality chair to match. Back pain and related issues are a serious problem for many office workers. If your staff spend long hours at their desks, their lives and as a result the quality of their work, will be greatly improved with the aid of an appropriate chair. Make sure that you’re happy with the quality of the chairs provided in your serviced office.

Keep it flexible
It’s also a good idea to create a workspace that can be easily reconfigured to accommodate changes in your business. These could be permanent changes such as new staff members but also temporary ones, for example creating a designated work area for a specific project.

Creature comforts
If you get it right, your office will be a great place to work, helping to improve productivity and inspire you and your staff to great things. Think about maximizing the amount of natural light in the office. Use plants to add some colour. Provide bowls of fruit and drinking water. Perhaps install an espresso machine? Little details can make all the difference.

Keep it clean
A clean office is paramount to a productive working environment, keeping it free of dust and germs that can lead to illness. It’s also vital that your office is presentable to visitors and potential clients. A clean office is a reflection of you and your business and helps significantly in making a good impression on all those who set foot in your working space. Another advantage of serviced offices is that commercial cleaning will be included as part of your monthly payment.
